Ricardo M. Cancio, Jr., 77, passed away in the arms of his wife, Myrna, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA.
He was born on September 25, 1946, to Ricardo T. Cancio, Sr., and Fermina M. Cancio in Quezon City. After completing his high school education at Feati University in 1963, he pursued a Bachelor of Science majoring in Management at the University of the East. Following graduation, he briefly worked as a Sales Representative at Adamson and Adamson. He then established his own school bus operation business in 1976, which thrived until 1995.
In 1996, he moved to America with his wife, Myrna, and settled in Glendale, USA. He worked at Carl’s Jr. for a period before securing a job at St. Jude Medical as an Assembler in 1998, where he worked until his retirement in 2008. In 2017, he relocated to Los Angeles with his wife and son, where he indulged his passion for collecting guitars and other musical instruments, often jamming with close friends on weekends.
Ricardo was known for his strong will and occasional stubbornness, but he also possessed an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave, and his street-smart nature was complemented by his extensive knowledge gained through a lifetime of experiences as a mechanic and handyman, allowing him to fix or build anything.
He will be remembered for the music and jokes he shared with his friends and family, a testament to his genuine love for each of them. In facing his final moments, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and boundless love for those who preceded him. He will be deeply missed.
Ricardo is survived by his wife, Myrna Cancio, his sons, Michael Cancio and Paul Cancio, his grandson, Miguel Antonio Cancio, and their pets, Daphne and Abby.
