Rhonda Louise Adams Skousen, age 70, passed away September 20, 2020 in Cypress, California, from metastatic breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1950, in Long Beach, California, to Oleen E and Betty Mae Grant Adams.

She was raised in Long Beach, California, where she developed a love for singing. She graduated from Brigham Young University, Provo, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, with an emphasis in special education. Although she didn't go on to teach, after she raised her children she did work for several years in the public-school system as a librarian at several elementary schools and as attendance clerk at Dwyer Middle School, from where she retired in 2016.

She married the love of her life, Melvin Daniel Skousen, on December 30, 1973, in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together they had 3 children and raised them in Cypress, where she lived for the past 40 years. She was an active member of the Church, serving as Relief Society president, Young Women's stake and ward presidents, a member of her ward Primary presidency, Seminary teacher, and was most known for her events as the activities chairman on both stake and ward levels for many years.

She is survived by her husband Melvin Daniel Skousen, Cypress, California son Troy Jon (Karen), Rio Rancho, New Mexico; daughter Christie Ann Hardey (Scott), West Jordan, Utah; son Scott Trevor (Cassidy), Lehi, Utah; 10 grandchildren ; 3 siblings- Cheryl Ferguson (Tony), Richard Adams, and Derrall Adams (Julie). She is preceded in death by her parents, Oleen and Betty Adams Rhonda found great joy in surrounding herself with people and fun and was able to leave this mortal life in a similar manner.

A 30-minute graveside service to celebrate her life, with no restriction on the numbers attending the service, will be held on October 26, 2020, at 9:00 am., at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 4471 Lincoln Ave., Cypress, California.
All are invited.

A memorial will follow, beginning at 11:30 ( approximately), at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, 5151 Orange Ave., Cypress, California. However, due to possible COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) restrictions, in-person attendance may be limited. Online viewing of the service will be available upon request to the family.
