Remedios Nagata Castro

Remedios “Remy” Nagata Castro, age 66, passed away on May 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, Remy carried with her a vibrant spirit, deep resilience, and love for life that could never be contained. She later graduated high school in Guam, where she called home until she moved to Southern California Though tiny in stature, she was truly “tiny but mighty” — a spitfire with a strong will, quick wit, and a fiercely selfless heart.

Remy dedicated many years of service working as a customer service representative for AAA before retiring. Beyond her career, she was a woman full of passion and movement. Formally trained as a ballerina in her younger years, she carried her love of dance throughout her life — whether through graceful memories of ballet or joyful nights spent dancing to good music in lively nightclubs. She also found happiness in sharing good food, laughter, and meaningful moments with the people she loved most.

In recent years, Remy embraced and deepened her Catholic faith, which became an important source of comfort and strength.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Lester; her children, Nickel Lester and Marsha Lester; and her beloved grandchildren, Harmony, Kenzo, Julius, and Kai, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.

Remy will be remembered for her strength, energy, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence filled every room she entered, and her memory will continue to live on in the music, dancing, laughter, and love she leaves behind.

Though deeply missed, Remy’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
