Reggie Umipig Abiang, 82, born on September 7, 1932, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, passed away October 1, 2014. The son of Matias and Maria, Reggie was the youngest of five children. He attended University of the East, with a degree in Business Management (Commerce). There, he met the love of his life, Adelina, whom he later married after they both graduated from college.

He worked as the Municipal Secretary working side by side with the mayor of Narvacan until his family moved to the U.S. in 1978. He then worked at Cedar's Sinai Medical Center in Accounting Department from 1978 until he retired at the age of 70. He received many accolades and recognitions at Cedars for his many years of dedicated service.

An active in the local community, Reggie served as long time member of various Filipino-American organization including FACLA (Filipino American Community of Los Angeles), Con FAA (Confederation of Filipino-American Association), served as Vice President for United Narvacan Association, and four years as President of Narvacan Association of Southern California. Reggie was involved in numerous fundraising efforts to assist the citizens and municipality of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

Reggie had a fruitful life. He enjoyed watching sports, running, basketball, traveling with friends, dancing, entertaining, and spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. His kind, caring, generous, and outgoing personality made Reggie the man that everyone loved.

He is survived by his wife, Adelina, his children Alex, Richard and his wife Risa, and Maryann and her husband Mark., his grand-children, Kristina (KK), Rex, and Rylee, and his brother, Delfin. He resided in Carson, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California. Reggie will be missed by all but his fun-loving soul will live in our hearts forever.
