Raymond "Jack" Taylor

July 11, 1934 — October 18, 2017

Raymond "Jack" Taylor, 83, born on July 11, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois passed away October 18, 2017. He resided in Calabasas, California at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia, daughter Gail Taylor of San Antonio, TX, daughter Chris Taylor, of Madison, WI and son-in-law Jim Feldman, two grandsons Samuel Taylor-Feldman (11) and Benjamin Taylor-Feldman (7), sister Lorelea Holford of Los Angeles, and various nieces and nephews.

Jack spent the majority of his life in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Van Nuys High School in 1952, and served numerous years in the military, including the national guard and the army where he was mostly stationed in Germany. He married his true love Patricia in 1960, and raised his two daughters in the San Fernando Valley. Jack was a hard worker, and from a young age, held various jobs including for Lockheed Aircraft, the Los Angeles Times, and finally began his own business. He had a life-long obsession with cars, and owned and retooled many. He could build and fix anything.

Jack will be missed for his goofy sense of humor and his wit, delivered with a gleam in his eye. He loved to tease, and delighted his grandchildren with ad-libbed stories and poems. He died a strong Democrat, and was active in the Valley Grassroots for Democracy. Even in his decline, he rallied against the current political climate. He was a life-long Methodist, and attended the First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park.

A graveside service for family only will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. A memorial service and reception will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park, 22700 Sherman Way, West Hills, CA.
