Raymond J. Prebish

PREBISH, Raymond J. (August 8, 1929 – March 6, 2015)
Ray enjoyed a full and long life. Born in San Pedro, California, Ray graduated from George Washington High School in 1947, where he lettered in Cross Country. He then joined the Navy and saw much of the Pacific Rim before his Honorable Discharge in 1951. Ray met Thelma on a blind date in 1953 and they married later that same year.
Ray had many passions, but music and USC football led them all. He enjoyed playing piano, singing classic musical songs, and listening to Frank Sinatra. He began attending USC football games as soon as he was old enough, and attended many scrimmages with his father where he met some of the coaches. Ray had a phenomenal memory and could recite the scores of nearly every game, including the name of who scored the winning touchdown. He attended nearly every home game until late in life.
Ray's beloved wife Thelma preceded him in death eight years ago. Ray is survived by his four children - Mark, Jennifer, Lisa, & Laura, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-9 PM on Wednesday March 11th at the Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries on Lincoln Avenue in Cypress. Memorial and funeral services will be held Thursday March 12th at 2 PM.
