Atkinson, NH: Raymond R. Pappalardo, 71, a resident of Atkinson since 2003 and formerly of West Newbury, MA died on January 1, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, after being stricken at home.

Born, raised, and educated in Lawrence, MA son of the late Anthony and Anna (Zappala) Pappalardo, he attended Holy Rosary School and Central Catholic High School and graduated with the Class of 1961. He went on to attend Northeastern University and received his BA in Accounting from Merrimack College. He also did post graduate work at Suffolk University.

Mr. Pappalardo worked as a Public Accountant in North Andover for thirty years, where he and his wife built a successful accounting practice together. He was also a licensed public accountant in the State of New Hampshire. A charter member of Bishop Peterson Council of the Knights of Columbus of Salem, NH, he was also a 4th degree member and past treasurer of North Andover Assembly at Camelot Hall.

An avid Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox fan, he enjoyed dining and playing trivia at a local Mexican Restaurant. While in retirement , Mr. Pappalardo's passion for golf was realized. When he was not helping others as a golf ranger at Granite Fields Golf Course, he was out playing the course himself.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Carol A. (Lee) Pappalardo, his daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann and Joseph Loughnane of Canton, MA, granddaughters, Kimberly and Courtney Loughnane, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Anthony Pappalardo and Frederick Pappalardo and his sister, Marie (Pappalardo) Stanick.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, Hampstead, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
