Raymond Nelson

Raymond Nelson, born on June 8, 1940, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, with loving family by his side. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to both his career and family, and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Raymond served as a Compliance Officer for the Food and Drug Administration, a role that he approached with diligence and integrity. His commitment to ensuring public health and safety was a source of pride throughout his career. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Raymond had a passion for various hobbies that brought him great joy. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking, camping and fishing. Notably, he found immense satisfaction in growing giant pumpkins, a hobby that showcased his nurturing spirit and love for nature. However, his proudest accomplishment remained raising a family, a testament to his values and commitment to those he loved.

Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, and their children Dale (Janna), Dean (Katherine), and Robin (Ryan). He found joy in every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Zachary, Allison, and Megan, each of whom he cherished deeply. His love for his late son Douglas, who preceded him in death, remained unwavering until his final days.

Visitation will be held on October 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA 91724. Following this, a Funeral Service will take place on October 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Church of our Heritage, also at the same location.
