Ray G. Baca passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 79 at home in Indio, California after a brief illness. Ray was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico on June 8, 1945 to Esaias and Frances Baca. At a young age Ray started working with his Dad as a mechanic and continued in this line of work the rest of his life. Even in retirement he worked on small engine repairs for local landscape companies where he was known as the Maestro. He was an Army veteran receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal as well as other expert designations.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Yolanda, daughter Yvonne Villalobos (Ramon), son Esaias Fred Baca (Shawna), 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His sister Josie Ulibarri from Santa Rosa, New Mexico and his brother Robert from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ruben and Sam Baca, and great grandchild baby Braeden Smith Villalobos.
Funeral services are as follows:
Visitation Monday March 24 from 4-8pm at Forest Lawn Coachella.
Church service on Tuesday March 25th at OLPH Catholic church in Indio at 10:30 am immediately followed by a cemetery service.
