Ray J. Halbur

Ray J. Halbur, 98, of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away February 28, 2013. He was born on March 19, 1914 in West Point, Neb., He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Elaine Koissian, Mary Harsft and Rita Ehring; brother, William Halbur; and sister, Marcella Barton. He lived in Burbank, Calif. for many years. He worked at Lawrence Engineering & Supply, Inc. as a market manager prior to retirement and moving to the desert in 1996. Throughout his lifetime he loved sports, including horse racing and was a fan of the Angels baseball team. He was a beloved husband, father, and had 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A rosary and viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Ramon Chapel of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 47-225 Washington Street, La Quinta, CA 92253 on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 12 noon at San Fernando Mission Cemetery, Mission Hills, Calif.
