Randy Fast

Deacon Randy Fast, 71, of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away July 16, 2013 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was born October 12, 1941 to Virginia Mayhew in Jersey City, N.J. He married Carol Danczak on July 20, 1972, in Chicago, Ill. He was a funeral director for many years. He served in the Marine Corps from 1958 to 1968 as a Staff Sergeant. Randy was ordained as a deacon in the Catholic Church on October 18, 2003. He faithfully served God and his faith communities for the past 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Palm Desert; daughter, Amy (Ryan) Shillady; son, Aaron (Melissa) Fast; and sister, Jenny (Cecil) Branscom. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Ethan, Lucille, Lorraine and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Fast and numerous aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Forest Lawn Cathedral City. A funeral mass will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in La Quinta, Calif. with interment to follow at 1:45 pm at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries.
