Ralph Barton Miller

Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend Ralph "Red" Barton Miller died peacefully on March 12th, 2015 in Upland, California at the age of 94.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 75 years Dorothy "Dot" Miller and his son, Ralph "Bart" Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ottie Miller; daughter, Toni Chapala; and sister, Florence "Flo" Lawson.

Ralph was born on March 29th, 1920 in Smithville, Missouri to Frank and Ottie Miller. He graduated from San Diego University in 1958 with a degree in Engineering. He married the love of his life Dorothy in 1939 in Oskaloosa, Kansas. After moving to San Diego California in 1940, Ralph began a 35 year career as an aerospace engineer for General Dynamics. Over the years, the couple welcomed two children into their home and Ralph set about teaching them his values of fairness, discipline, love, and right from wrong. His family remembers him as a dedicated father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and live life to the fullest; the world would be better if we all followed his lead. He was a lifelong fan of the San Diego Chargers, and loved traveling, camping, the Double Dot, ice cream, motorcycles, banana splits, and most of all, his wife and his family and friends.

A viewing is scheduled from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, March 19th 2015 at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Covina, California, with services to follow at 2 pm. Rev. Matthew J.
