Ralph S. Dokter

Ralph S. Dokter, 86, was born on August 8, 1926, in Bristol, South Dakota and passed away May 20, 2013, on his and wife Alice's 62nd wedding anniversary. Interment occurred at Forest Lawn, Cypress, California. Ralph grew up and attended school in Andover, SD before
entering the US Navy. Ralph served honorably in the Navy for 20 years. After retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, he worked in civilian life for over twenty years in communications and security protection. He then retired, but continued to help his friends,
family, neighbors, Lutheran Social Services, and his church, Bethany Lutheran, in Long Beach, California. Ralph leaves behind his wife Alice; sister Ruth of Pierpont, SD; three children, David of Long Beach, CA, Bradley and wife Mary of Cedar Grove, NC, and daughter Pamela and husband Rodney of Tustin, CA; 4 grandsons, David Michael, Eric, Brandon, and Collin; 2 granddaughters, Tammy and Mary Jo; and 2 great-grandsons, Gideon and Galen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gene Dokter.
