Rachel Lafaye Overman

On June 2, 2013, Mother went peacefully at home with her children by her side. She went to her Heavenly home to be with the two she loved most, Jesus and her husband Tommy of 63 years. She married Clyde Thomas Overman in Durham, N.C. Faye was the mother of the Oasis Church. She loved going to church, reading her Bible and books about angels and praying for her family and friends. She loved the Lord with all her heart and always preaching to her kids to live and believe the way she did. She was blessed by God with the gift of healing mostly those with cancer. She was a true blessing to all who know her and loved by many. They had three children, Tina (Jim) Huffman of Palm Desert, Calif, Richard (Karen) Overman of Arkansas, and Cheryl (Tom) McDonald of Arizona. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Tommy and Deborah Ellis of North Carolina, Donald and Tamara Vallier of Palm Desert, Kathy Tetachuk of Idaho, Randy Dietz of Indio, Calif., Summer Oshaben of Banning, Calif., Yvonne and Deja Overman of Arkansas, Vince Anderson of the United States Air Force (deployed), Mark and Donnie Overman of Texas and Lisa Overman of Riverside, as well as 67 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She loved her good friend, Mary Lou who was always there for her and her family. Thank you Mary Lou we all love and like you. Rachel will be truly missed but never forgotten. A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Cathedral City on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 3 pm to 5 pm with a funeral service to follow at 5 pm with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
