Born in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, Prescilio Marte grew up working at numerous family businesses, learning the values of hard work and responsibility while also attending school. His experiences in the family businesses helped shape the determined and humble man he would become, balancing his education with the lessons of perseverance and dedication. It was that perseverance that earned him a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at National University in Manila.
In high school, Prescilio met the love of this life, Florencia. They were married on December 20, 1961, beginning a journey together that would last 63 years. Their love was unwavering, and over the years, they celebrated countless happy anniversaries of love and laughter, each one a reflection of their deep bond, love, and commitment to one another.
Prescilio was a simple, humble family man who valued hard work and dedication. In 1971, he immigrated to America with a dream of providing a better life for his loved ones. Determined to offer his family opportunities they would not have had otherwise, Prescilio worked tirelessly to build a future for them. Together with his wife, Florencia, they raised four children, passing down their values of faith and perseverance. Prescilio's hobbies included golfing, bowling, and taking the family to the pier for fishing. Family was always at the center of their lives, and their legacy now extends to four grandchildren. Prescilio and Florencia instilled in their children and grandchildren the importance of faith and education with principles of kindness and respect.
Prescilio, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away at home when our Lord called him on December 30, 2024 at the age of 91. He was dearly loved by his family and friends, and his presence will be greatly missed. We are truly blessed to have had so many years of cherished memories filled with love, wisdom, and joy. His legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him.
