Ponciano Ayson Jr.

Ponciano S. Ayson Jr., 72, of Burbank, CA passed away on April 3, 2025 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital with his family. He is known to many as Pong and Bah-ding to his family.

Pong was born on September 21, 1952, to Ponciano Sr. and Lucia in Angeles City, Philippines. After graduating high school from Holy Angel College in 1969, he continued to college and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1973.

In 1976, he met Merlita (Galang) Ayson, and they wed on June 12, 1977, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Olongapo City, Philippines. They went on to have two daughters, Maritess and Marilou.

After retiring in 2017, Pong spent his time walking, biking, playing tennis with his wife, watching his shows on TV or his tablet, going to the Philippines to visit his family, going to Las Vegas and play some slot machines, and he loved taking care of his grandsons, Christian Jae and Jace.

Pong is predeceased by his parents; his sister, Carmelita; and his brothers, Diosdado and Ricardo. He is survived by his sister, Cora Ayson Nunag; his wife, Merlita Ayson; his two daughters and their spouse, Maritess (Jason) Kung and Marilou (Jeremy) Ng; and his two -point-five grandsons, Christian Jae, Jace and Baby Ng.
