Pompeyo Licas, Jr., 83, of Long Beach, California, passed away November 22, 2012.

A time of gathering will be held on December 6 and 7 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA. A full service Catholic mass and funeral service will follow on December 8, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Old North Chapel, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA.

Pompeyo Licas, Jr. was born on June 20, 1929, in Guinyangan, Quezon, Philippines to Pompeyo Sr. and Rafaela (Narciso) Licas. He attended San Beda College, College of Commerce. On March 30, 1952 he married the former Carmelita Bernardo Garcia in Manila, Philippines. Pompeyo was actively involved in research and development of logging sites in the Visayan and Mindanao region of the Philippines as well as in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea for lumber companies in Japan and other major Asian countries. In the United States he was the major contributor in researching, developing and designing the machinery of the first mass production of the tortilla bowl later popularized by Taco Bell and Sizzler restaurant. He also ventured and was successful in contributing his financial knowledge for independent motion picture production. He was an avid golfer and was a member at Capitol Golf Club and has a few trophies under his belt. In his later years he devoted and enjoyed spending all of his time with his wife Carmelita….. and a few trips to Las Vegas.

Pompeyo is survived by his wife, Carmelita and his children, Victor, Leo and his wife Jo Badar, Richard and his wife Jane Marie Aragon, Eric and his wife Emma Teves, Ramon and his partner James Malloy, and his daughter Angelica. His brother Antonio Licas and sister Flores Granda. His seventeen grandchildren, Cherlyn, Vincent and Ailani, Leo, Jeff, Ben, Cody and Chloe, Angel, Abby, Aubrey and Andee, Anthony, Elaine and Theodore, Nikki and Tracy. His fourteen great grandchildren, Jax and Raima, Andrew, Autumn and Alex, Evan and Emily, Benny and Zoei, Michele and Miguel, Gabby and Gia, and Tony.
