Pierre Andre Tierney

Pierre was born on April 22, 1932 and passed away on November 5, 2020 of a brain stem aneurysm. Pierre was a resident of Cypress, California for 57 years. Pete was married to Marilyn for 61 blissful years. He is survivied by 3 children: Michael Tierney (wife Lori). Pamela Steenhoek (husband Daniel) and Laurie Deniston (husband Bruce). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Marilyn Broduer, Daniel Steenhoek, Samantha Tierney, Aubriahna Greene, Morgan Tierney, Jeremiah Steenhoek, Angelique Steenhoek, Griffin Deniston, and Brooke Denniston And 4 great grandchildren, Gabriel Brodeur, Adeline Brodeur, Caleb Greene and Estelle Brodeur.
Pete grew up in oprhanages from the time he was 2 1/2 until he joined the Air Force at 18 years old. He loved planes. After acing the entrance exams for pilot training, he was denied due to his colorblindness. He trained as an airplane mechanic and repaired fighter planes in the Korean war. After discharge, he worked in the aeronautics industry. He also graduated from Erie Tech with a degree in Engineering. He was on the mechanical team that built the Saturn V rocket, which supported the Apollo Lunar Missions.
Pete loved to dance and that is how he and Marilyn first met. He particularly enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing. Among the many games he enjoyed playing, his favorite was pinochle. He also read every Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novel. He and Marilyn traveled the world together from the Great Wall of China to a river cruise on the Danube. Pete diligently attended the LDS temple.
