Phyllis Jean (White) DePue - Born February 23, 1926 - Entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and eternal life on October 5, 2022. (96 years)
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." ~ Thomas Campbell
Phyllis was born in Dayton, Ohio, where she loved to play the accordion and spend time with her large extended family during her younger years. She and her husband (Robert) Bob DePue had one beloved daughter together, Candice Anne.
Phyllis loved her Lord and was baptized when she was nine years old. Her favorite verse was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." Phyllis was always active in every church community to which she belonged, and in recent years her home church was Coast Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano. She enjoyed worshipping alongside many dear friends, including her longtime honorary family, Bonnie and Steve Livingston and their family.
She lived with or near family for much of her life, always being devoted to her loved ones. At the time of her passing, Phyllis was a resident of Mission Viejo, where she shared a home with her grandson, Eric Paulsen.
Phyllis loved to dance, play tennis, sew, cook, have parties and do crossword puzzles. She was committed to children's ministry, teaching Sunday school for more than 30 years and being an Awana leader at her church. Faith and family were always the two most important things to Phyllis.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Florence White; husband, Bob DePue; beloved daughter Candi Adermatt; and brother, Bob White. She is survived by her stepson, Mark DePue; grandchildren Korby and Eric Paulsen, and Danielle, Ashley, Stephen and Jonathan DePue; and her nine great grandchildren. She has a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins in Ohio and California.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. There will be a service and reception at Coast Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano, followed by an internment at Forest Lawn in Covina. Those who wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers may do so to Coast Bible Church.
