Phyllis June Barnard Eppley

November 20, 1925 — November 14, 2019

Phyllis June Barnard Eppley, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in La Crescenta, California, on November 14, 2019.

June was born November 20, 1925 to Phyllis and Natale DeCaro. She married Donald Rufus Barnard and together they had three children: Don, Betty and Robin. She was a homemaker who volunteered with the PTA, her women's group at church and taught Sunday School for many years. As her children grew older, she helped with the youth group at church. She accompanied the teens to Youth for Christ every Saturday night and afterward to Van de Camps (a popular drive in and restaurant.) She made many life-long friends at church and the PTA. Later, after the children were grown, married, and living life with their own families, she joined the Red Hatters group. She loved the meetings and lunch outings with her new friends. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren provided her with much joy.

June is survived by her son, Don Barnard (Bonnie Mae), her daughter, Betty Bartholomew (Richard) and son-in-law, Joe Ritchey; her grandchildren, Michael, Lisa (Paul), Carla, Matthew (Veronica), Sarah, and Kevin (Rosario); her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Steven, Kaitlyn, Salome, Abigail, Axel, and Riley; and her great-great grandchildren, Michael and Joshua. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Barnard, her daughter, Robin Ritchey, her grandson, Jonathan Barnard, and her second husband, Morgan L. Eppley. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and sister.

She lived a long, happy and productive life. She was ready to go home to God and her family and friends waiting to greet her in Heaven. While she will be missed by her survivors, they are comforted in knowing she is in a better place and that they will be reunited someday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.
