Phyllis Jean Arkus

Phyllis Jean Arkus, 76, of Cerritos, passed away on September 18, 2024, after battling Dementia and Alzheimer's. for over 6 years. Phyllis was born on April 6, 1948, to Dollie Paris-Kosmicki and Benjamin Kosmicki in Loup City, Nebraska.  Phyllis graduated from John Glenn High School in Norwalk, Ca. In 1969, Phyllis married LeRoy Arkus and had two children Jennifer and Steven. Phyllis pursed a career in education and became a Teacher, Assistant Principal and Special Education Administrator.

In 2010, Phyllis retired and spent her time reading, collecting Elvis memorabilia and enjoying trips to Hawaii, Graceland and Nashville. She also enjoyed going to see Elvis tribute shows.

Phyllis was predeceased by Dolie Paris Luksich (mother), Benjamin Kosmicki (father), Chris Luksich (stepfather) and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by Lee Arkus (husband), children Jennifer Santo, Steven and Renee Arkus, Caitlyn and Christian Santo (grandchildren), Kirsten, Emma and Steven Jr Arkus (grandchildren), Jeremiah and Catalina Garcia (great grandchildren), and her dog Hershey.

Services will be held at Forest Lawn in Cypress, California on October 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Patriot's Chapel. Reception to follow.
