Peter Octavean Musat

Peter Octavean Musat passed away on January 31, 2015. He was born on July 18, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest of 3 sons of Peter Achim Musat and Anna Gregory Musat. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering.

Immediately out of college, he designed tractors for Massey Ferguson, but by the late sixties he has moved to California, settling in the San Jose/Los Gatos area. There he was employed in the restaurant/bar business, eventually opening establishments of his own. In the 1980's he was employed by Young's Market Co. running their meat division which supplied meat and meat products to restaurants and supermarkets. He moved to Los Angeles in 1988, eventually working at the Ed Fineman Co and Swift and Co.

Peter is survived by his wife, Ruth Mackey Musat, brothers Nick Musat of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and John Musat of Clarkston, MI, daughter Alison Elizabeth Musat of Los Angeles and 5 nieces and nephews.

All arrangements will be handled by Forest Lawn Glendale. A visitation is scheduled for Feb 13, 5-9 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Feb 14, at 1:30 p.m., with interment immediately following.

Charitable donations may be made to Huntington Hospital and sent to the Philanthropy Office, 100 W. California Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105. Referencing the "Peter Musat Tribute" will earmark all gifts for the Cardiac Rehab Center.
