Peter Donald Gorzeman

May 11, 1931 — June 24, 2020

Peter Donald Gorzeman was born on May 11, 1931 the second son to John and Susan Gorzeman of Bellflower. Along with his older brother Joe, Pete worked on his family's dairy farm. He played football and ran track for Excelsior High School, graduating in 1948 after being allowed to skip the 6th grade.
Upon graduating and while still living at home, Pete began running a small leased dairy on his own in the area of Westminster and soon married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Heinemann on June 24, 1950. They began their family with sons Steve (1951) and Curt (1952) and then daughter Julie (1954). The young family lived on their own dairy farm in Bellflower but in 1958 moved to a bigger property in the brand-new City of Cypress.
It was in Cypress that he jumped into politics. He was elected to the City Council serving two terms and serving one term as Mayor Pro Tem. About this time his fourth child was born, Scott (1962). Pete moved on from the dairy business selling the dairy in 1967. He then owned a design mart eventually purchasing a gasoline distribution business in 1972 which he owned and managed until his retirement in 2018.
On February 11, 1984 he married Bobbie Chloe Karr adding three stepdaughters into his family, Kristy, Vicki and Terri. Chloe and Peter traveled widely as he continued to be an avid fisher and hunter. He remained living happily in Cypress with Chloe and their families until his death, June 24, 2020.
He is survived by his wife Chloe, his children Steve, Curt, Julie and Scott, his stepdaughters Kristy, Vicki and Terri and his ten grandchildren Ryan, Ashley, Britney, Chris, Casey, Justin, Jeremy, Jena, Evan and Eric. His great grandchildren include Calixta, Mikayla, Isaiah, Ruby, Aliya, Kaydence, Colton and Dylan.
