Peggy Edmiston

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Edmiston, 88, born October 27, 1934, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, passed away October 31, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, George. Peggy is survived by their 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was the third of seven children born to Oleph and Rosezena Hendricks. Peggy was predeceased by her parents and five of her six siblings. Her childhood was spent in Missouri, Texas and, finally, California, where she resided until her death. During her early education in Missouri, Peggy recalled attending a one-room schoolhouse. Peggy and George met at Alhambra High School and married soon after. She enjoyed See's candy as well as "Peanuts" by Charles Schultz. Her interests included reading two daily newspapers; history (she was a great admirer of Abraham Lincoln); winning at the casino slot machines; and, indulging her passion of hunting for first editions, antique mirrors and other treasures at yard sales. But Peggy's greatest joy was her family, whom she loved dearly and was loved in return. A private graveside service attended by immediate family was held at Forest Lawn Covina on November 17, 2022.
