Pedro Franco Corrales led a remarkable life filled with adventure, hard work, and a deep commitment to his family. Born on December 4, 1926, in Thousand Oaks, California, he passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024, at the age of 97, surrounded by loved ones. He was one of eight children, raised one daughter, Mary Rodriguez, and five grandchildren.


From a young age, Pedro displayed a curiosity and a knack for building and creating things with his hands. He was clever and could build or repair almost anything from items he had on hand which earned him the nickname "MacGyver." His childhood in the Sierra Madre Mountains was filled with hard work and adventurous experiences. From fending off coyotes as a little boy to later working on the railroads, Pedro displayed determination and ambition throughout his life.


Pedro's career path was diverse, showing his versatile skills. He worked on railroad tracks, using mules to transport materials up and down the mountains. Later, he earned a certificate in mechanics and worked on repairing and building cars. He also pursued a career as a chef in Los Angeles, creating recipes and meals that became a legacy passed down through generations.


Although he achieved numerous goals in his professional life, Pedro's greatest passion and source of pride was his family. Pedro stood as the family's foundation, he was known and loved by all.


Living in Weldon, CA, brought Pedro joy and happiness. He had a green thumb and dedicated himself to transforming his outdoor space into a haven of beauty and tranquility. He found fulfillment in nurturing the land through gardening or simply enjoying the fresh air.


Pedro Franco Corrales leaves behind a legacy of hard work, selflessness, and dedication to his family. He will be remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and cherished him.
