Pauline Marie Vedrode

Pauline Marie Vedrode, 88, born on November 21, 1931, in Whitehall, MI, United States, passed away March 9, 2020. She resided in Desert Hot Springs, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, California.

On September 9, 1950, Pauline married Steven Joseph Vedrode, the love of her life. They lived in Merrill Michigan until 1952 when they moved to Cathedral City, California. Steve passed away in 2001. Pauline is survived by her five children: Ilona Bell (Salem, Or.); Shelley Vedrode (Cathedral City, CA); Steven Vedrode, Jr. (Salem, Or.); Jennifer Terrell (Santee, CA); and Katrina Panet (Las Vegas, NV). She has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Aside from her family, Pauline's greatest sense of accomplishment came from her 35-year career as a Registered Nurse. She worked the majority of those years at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, followed by several years as a traveling nurse after Steve retired. Together, the two of them visited Mississippi, Arizona, Oregon and Michigan. Pauline also continued to work locally at the High Desert Regional Medical Center in Yucca Valley.

Although her final year was spent in board-and-care in Desert Hot Springs, Pauline lived with her daughter Shelley for 15 years following Steve's passing. She traveled the state to spend time with her daughters Ilona, Jennifer and Katrina and looked forward to visits from her son, Steven. She was a long-time member of St. Louis Catholic Church and enjoyed a good read and a glass of bourbon on occasion (two ice cubes, please). She will be missed.
