Paula P. Villanueva, June 27, 1924 to December 27, 2013.
Paula "Myna" passed away at her home in La Habra, California, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mesilla, New Mexico, the youngest of seven children Valentin Perez and Paula Orona. She was just two years old when her mother died, and was raised by her dear Tia Manuelita. She had wonderful memories of her childhood on the ranch with her siblings and cousins. After World War II she married Joaquin Villanueva and started their family in Los Angeles. She took pride in being a homemaker, caring for others, tending her garden and welcoming everyone into her warm kitchen for her famous New Mexico dishes. Her life and home were filled with laughter and music. She held her family as most important and loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and nina. She is survived by her sister Ramona Apodaca; four children, Irene Villanueva-Smith (Duncan), Pauline Villanueva-Martin (Charlie), Linda Copp (Dennis) and Joaquin Villanueva; five grandsons, John Copp (Kim) and Zeke Copp (Yolie), Daniel Santos, Myles and Andrew Villanueva; four great-granddaughters, Hailey and Samantha Copp, Calista and Charisse Copp; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Valentin, Jose, and Manuel Perez; two sisters, Eloisa Chavarria and Gertrudes "Tullie" Fresquez. Her friendly and loving nature earned her many friendships which she valued. We would also like to give our thanks to the La Habra Villa staff and coworkers for all of their help and support that was given to our mom and to all her dear friends she got to know in the two years she lived at the Villa. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Bruno's Catholic Church, 15740 Citrustree Rd., Whittier, Ca. 90603.
