Paula Anita Williams was born on March 11, 1937 in Los Angeles California to Arthur J Kelly and Juanita Williams. She was the youngest of 3 children, having an older sister Daphne and an older brother Kelly who have preceded her in death.
Her father Arthur was Vice President of Golden State Mutual Insurance Company the largest black-owned insurance company in the western United States, Paula grew up and was educated in Los Angeles California attending elementary and junior high. She graduated from L.A. HighSchool in 1955 going on to attend Chapman College and then Los Angeles State College earning her batchelors degree.
Childhood piano lessons enchanced her God given gift which led to her becoming an accomplished pianist. Paula was well known for her beautiful piano playing which was requested from her youth and throughout her adult life at family gatherings, social events and even at her place of employment. Her love of music and the arts led her into a rewarding teaching career as a music teacher and department head at Bret Hart Junior High and Mt Vernon Junior High. She taught the boys and girls glee clubs and was also a math and English teacher.
Paula was always an active member and participant in various social clubs throughout her life, such as the Jack and Jill club in highschool, and the Reginas in college. On Novemer 22, 1958 paula became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Sigma Chapter and later the Alpha Omega Chapter where she became a lifetime member and Golden Sorer providing over 50 years of service to her sorority. She was also a troop leader for her daughters girl scout troop.
While attending Los Angeles State College Paula was first introduced to her future husband a handsome popular college basketball star named Ronald Terry Bazadier, known to all as just Terry. It was love at first sight for these two, however Terry was drafted into the army right after graduating college and so their courtship was postponed until they were reunited 4 years later. After a 2 year courtship Terry and Paula married on June 17, 1962 and started their life together as teachers in the LA Unified School district. 13 months later Paula gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Alisha Lorraine Bazadier.
In 1972 Paula decided to leave the teaching field and go to work for Framers Insurance group. There Paula worked in several departments until she found her second calling in the Corporate Legal Department. It was there that she became interested in law. Always the advocate for continuing education and having a relentless thirst for knowledge Paula went back to school and earned her Paralegal certificate in Probate Adminisration and Corporations Specialties in 1982.
Paula became a widow on November 16, 1992 when her husband Terry passed on to the Lord. Her sadness at the loss of her husband was replaced with joy at the birth of her first grandchild Terrance Michael Brown born 3 months later in 1993 and her second grandchild Alexis Victoria Brown born in 1995.
After 35 years of providing dedicated service Paula decided to retire from Farmer Insurance. She filled her life with the things that brought her joy, her church, her grandchildren, social activities with her sorority and her true calling in life her love of music . Paula was a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and on March 5, 2018 the Lord called Paula home where she joins her husband Terry.
