Paula Bacon passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 73.
Paula had a warm and caring personality that touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved Hawaii, enjoyed a good glass of wine, and cherished her dogs, friends and family. Paula enjoyed cooking and took great joy in making holidays special, ensuring that everyone's favorite foods were on the table—especially sautéed onions, tacos, and her famous seven-layer Jell-O. Gathering loved ones together and creating lasting memories brought her great happiness.
Paula was known for never forgetting a birthday and always reaching out with a phone call, text message, or card. Family members often found lottery tickets tucked inside their birthday greetings or holiday cards, and she was always excited to hear whether anyone had won. Her thoughtfulness and attention to others made everyone feel remembered and loved.
She dedicated more than 40 years of her life to the dental profession. She began her career as a dental hygienist before moving chairside in an orthodontic office and later managing the front desk. She loved getting to know the patients and took great pride in helping people feel welcome and cared for. Paula held a special affection for her longtime employer, Alan, and his wife, Kay, and treasured the relationships she built throughout her career.
Paula enjoyed life's simple pleasures and was known for her loyal devotion to the things she loved. She never missed an episode of Magnum, P.I. and loved Tom Selleck. Her love of Hawaii was fueled in part by the show's beautiful island setting, a place she loved to visit whenever she could. Paula was also a devoted fan of Elvis Presley, whose music brought her tremendous joy. Whether listening to her favorite songs, watching a beloved television show, or spending time with family and friends, Paula found happiness in the people and moments she treasured most.
Paula is survived by her sisters, Jan Williams, Susan Kemerly, and Mary Holmes; her close friends, Sandy Hedges and Rick Belli; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Kemerly; her father, Paul Kemerly; her brother, Ron Kemerly; her sister, Carol Grogg; and her brother-in-law, Ron Williams.
Funeral services will be held on June 15, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn - Cathedral City - Ramon Chapel.
