Paul W. Rombola

Hampstead, NH:  Paul W. Rombola, 76, died March 7, 2012 at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Nashua, NH.

Born and raised in Norwood, MA, son of the late Anthony and Mary Rombola, he was educated in local schools and was a 1954 graduate of Norwood High School where he was a member of the championship hockey team.  He was a former resident of Salem, NH for four years and Fryeburg, Maine for fifteen years before moving to Hampstead in 2004.

Mr. Rombola was a trainer and racer of harness horses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Canada, a career that spanned twenty years and included owning his own training stable.  He later owned and operated Jockey Cap Country Store and Motel in Fryeburg, Maine from 1980 until 2000.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years Mary L. (Foley) Rombola; two sons Anthony P. Rombola and his wife Susan of Cape Coral, FL and William F. Rombola of Alexander, NC; two daughters Nancy J. Couture and her husband Leonard of Atkinson, NH and Suzanne M. Clark and her husband Les of Salem, NH; one brother Robert Rombola of Norwood; seven grandchildren Stephen Clark, Michael Couture, A.J. Deacy, Kiah Raymond, Jamie Clark, Trisha Rombola and Joseph Fay; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH.
