Paul W. Herklotz, 91, a longtime resident of Indian Wells Country Club, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was born on February 23, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a World War II veteran, a Chicago policeman that was sent by William Wrigley to restore order on Catalina Island, a successful businessman, entrepreneur, retired V.P. of Perose Brothers Maintenance, a private pilot, realtor, broker and an avocado grower/rancher. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed his family immensely. He was predeceased by his loving wife June in August of 2003 after 36 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his sons Paul and Phillip Herklotz and grandson Ryan Herklotz. He is survived by his son Geoffrey Herklotz (Susan), brother John Herklotz, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 step children, Burr Dilday, Susan Dilday, Decatur Dilday (Linda), Cindy Peterson (Gary), 16 step grandchildren and 30 step great grandchildren. He was a remarkable man, truly loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Melissa McCaughey of Comfort Keepers and caregivers Alex and Jeff for their kindness and caring to Paul during these last months. Services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 69855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
