Manchester, NH: Paul Albert "Al" Fournier, 90, of Manchester and a former resident of Haverhill, MA and Atkinson, NH from 1978 until 2014, died on June 20, 2016 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Albert and Blanche (Lemoine) Fournier, he attended Sacred Hearts School in South Lawrence and Central Catholic High School.

Mr. Fournier served first in the United States Merchant Marines and then in the United States Army from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1945 with the rank of Private First Class. Mr. Fournier was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Fournier was employed as a machine setter at Western Electric Company and AT&T Technologies, retiring after thirty-four years of service. He was a member of the Communication Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers.

An active member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph's Parish, Mr. Fournier served as an alter server for funerals and as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was also active with the First Saturday Devotion and was a member of the Third Order of Mary at All Saints, the Ultreya Group of All Saints, and the All Saints Golf League. In his younger years, he was also a member of the Holy Name Society.

An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, Mr. Fournier enjoyed camping at Ossippee Lake and was a member of the Bowling League at Academy Lanes.

He was predeceased by his wife of thirty-nine years, Jeannette A. (Boulanger) Fournier in 1988, and is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen P. and Paula Fournier of Kingston, Paul J. and Michelle Fournier of North Conway, Gary R. and Marie Fournier of Salem, NH, Richard K. and Linda Fournier of Juno Beach, FL, Daniel R. and Marilee Fournier of The Villages, FL, and William A. and Susanne Fournier of Hooksett, a daughter, Janine Christian of Hampstead, two brothers, Robert Fournier of Groveland, and Gerard Fournier of Kansas City, Missouri, three sisters, Rita Thompson of Hampstead, Lucille Kemp of Groveland, and Claire Desmarais of Hampstead, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at All Saints, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01832.
