Patricia A. O'meara

Salem, MA: Patricia Ann (Hannon) O'Meara, 83, of Salem died on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.

Daughter of the late Margaret (O'Leary) (Hannon) Hatfield and step-daughter of the late Herbert Hatfield, she was born, raised, and educated in Lawrence, MA, graduating Lawrence High School in 1947. After high school Mrs. O'Meara moved to New York City to study ballet under the late Eileen O'Connor. She traveled throughout Europe before returning to Lawrence to raise her children.

Mrs. O'Meara worked as a self employed bookkeeper for local contractors as well as a night auditor at the Inn at Children's Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Lawrence. She was interested in the arts and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her true joy came from her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen P. and Sandra O'Meara of Plaistow, NH, and Joseph P. O'Meara of Lawrence, two daughters and son-in-law, Janis A. O'Meara of San Francisco, CA, Jeanne M. and Jonathan Vural of Salem, MA, and five grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria, Maya, Aimee, and Isaac. She is predeceased by her brother, John Hannon, and her sister, Madeline Wood.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at All Saints Church, Haverhill, MA. A private burial service will take place at a later date.
