Patricia A. Mcpherson

Calais, ME:  Patricia "Tricia"' (Donovan) McPherson, 61, passed away on March 7, 2012 after a short illness at Calais Regional Hospital.  Tricia was the widow of Michael McPherson, a former selectman of Plaistow, NH and a former member of the city council of Calais, Maine, who passed away in January of 2000.

Tricia was born in Haverhill, MA on March 17, 1950 and grew up in the Bradford section.  The daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Powers) Donovan, she was a graduate of Sacred Hearts School and Haverhill High School Class of 1968.  She was a gifted artist and musician.

Tricia and Mike married on April 15, 1978 and started their married life in Plaistow, NH.  They were the proud parents of two sons, Adam and Ross.  After moving from Plaistow they briefly lived in Raymond, NH and then settled in Calais in 1991.

Tricia had a diversified career.  She first worked at New England Telephone Company for more than fifteen years while living in Plaistow.  After moving to Calais she received her certification as a nursing assistant in the States of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine and was briefly employed at Rite Aid Pharmacy.  She then began a very rewarding career working at Calais Children's Project as a behavioral technician for more than nine years.  She was extremely proud of the work she did with the children every day.  Currently she was a full time student attending Washington Community College working towards her Associate's Degree in Medical Office Assisting.  She was scheduled to graduate in May and will be awarded her degree posthumously.

In addition to her two sons, she is survived by her sisters Maureen Kelley and her husband Jay of Tewksbury, MA, Diane Ryan of Bradford, MA, Nancy Halloran and her husband John of Plaistow, brothers Daniel Donovan and his wife Alice, and William Donovan all of Bradford, MA.  Also, she was the daughter-in-law of Nellie McPherson, formerly of Plaistow, NH, and now of San Diego, CA and the sister-in-law of Douglas, Susan and James McPherson.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephew, cousins and her Aunt Margaret "Billie"' Dufresne.  Tricia was predeceased in 2011 by her sister Elaine Marsella, wife of Ronald Marsella of Chelmsford, MA.  

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Rte.121A, Plaistow, NH.  Her funeral will be held on Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main Street, Bradford, MA.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to: WCCC Food Bank, 1 College Drive, Calais, ME  04619, Attn:  Karen Gookin.  To send messages of condolence please visit our website at www.brooksidechapelfh.com.
