Patricia "Patti" Loyola, 84, born on July 6, 1941, in Glendale, CA, passed away December 1, 2025 with her family by her side. She resided in Porter Ranch, CA at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley "Jim", her sons Steve (Karin) and Scott (Cathy), her daughter Chrissie (Todd) Stanford, and grandchildren Mark Loyola, Ryan Stanford, Matthew Loyola, Riley Stanford, and Alyssa Loyola. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA.
The daughter of Edgar and Donna Peterson, Patti grew up in Burbank, CA, and attended John Burroughs High School and later Glendale College. She was very close with her sister Jeannette and many of the other kids that grew up on Lincoln St.
It was at Glendale College that she met her future husband, Jim Loyola. They fell in love and wed on June 16, 1962 at Salem Lutheran Church in Glendale. A honeymoon in none other than Las Vegas would begin a wonderful life that would be highlighted by 63 years of marriage.
Jim and Patti built a beautiful family that included Steve in 1964, Scott in 1967, followed by Christina (Chrissie) in 1970. After living in Lake View Terrace in their early years, Patti and Jim moved to Northridge soon after the Sylmar earthquake of 1971. They would remain in Northridge where Patti was busy running her kids around to school events, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Little League baseball and softball and more. She loved being a doting mom and would carry that love forward when it was time to help babysit for any one of her five grandchildren.
After her sister's death 21 years ago, she became AuntieMom to nieces Jeannette Tashjian and Victoria Popjes and cared for their children like they were her own grandchildren.
The core of her life was her family, but a close second was her love of dogs. She had many over the course of her childhood and adult life, but mourned the loss of her last dog, Kipper, in 2023. Patti created balance in her life by working at the local Ralphs Grocery Store as a bakery clerk and then later as Bakery Manager. She loved it! She loved meeting new people and felt a great sense of ownership for that bakery and all that worked with her.
Patti retired in 1994 and dedicated her time to watching her grandkids and taking weekend trips to their Lakehouse in Spring Valley Lake. Patti was an active member of the Diamondhead Homeowners Association Board of Directors, ensuring that the place she loved so dearly was watched over.
Memorial services for Patti Loyola will be held on Friday, December 19th, 12 noon, at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Remembrance will be in the Old North Church with internment immediately following at Murmuring Trees.
