Patricia Ann Gorney (Harr), 86, of La Quinta, CA, passed away, surrounded by her children, on March 31, 2026. Born in Latrobe, PA, she was the daughter of George M. Harr Sr. and Clara M. Harr (Pavlovcak).
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Pat or Patty as she was known by her husband family, and close friends, was working as a registered nurse, when she met her future husband Tom. She spent her life caring for others, especially Tom during his final years.
The family lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Colorado, and California during Tom’s career with IBM. Pat raised their children, worked as a school nurse, and owned a successful small business. They retired to La Quinta in 2000, where they enjoyed golfing, country club living, travel, and time with friends.
Despite many health challenges, Pat faced life with strength and grace.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas Andrew Gorney Sr.; her parents; and her brother, George M. “Bud” Harr Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ann Will (Mark); her sons, Thomas Andrew Gorney Jr. (Diane) and Mark Douglas Gorney; her grandchildren, Trevor Will and Sara Rose Will; her brother, Fred Harr (Fran); sisters-in-law Vicki Harr and Karen Fiscus (Richard); brother-in-law William Gorney (Marsha); her aunt Margaret Papay; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 7, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in La Quinta, followed by the inurnment in Latrobe, PA, at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and her friends at Atria Hacienda in Palm Desert, CA.
