Patricia Amaro

February 4, 1945 — September 8, 2025

Patricia Amaro, born on February 4, 1945, unexpectedly passed away from pancreatic cancer on September 8, 2025. She resided in Rancho Cucamonga, CA at the time of her passing, surrounded by her family.

Patricia, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was born in Santa Barbara, California. Patricia later made her home in San Dimas and La Verne, where she lived the majority of her life. She dedicated 37 years of service to Bonita Unified School District, working from September 1975 until her retirement in June 2011. Patricia’s dedication and strong work ethic extended far beyond her career, leaving a lasting impact on her family and community.

Patricia was the devoted wife of the late Joaquin “Jake” Amaro, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and perseverance. She is survived by her loving daughters, Annamaria and Tricia Amaro, and her cherished granddaughters, Brittani Bentley and Savanna Cespedes. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Padilla, her two brothers, Fred and David Unzueta, as well as in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will continue to honor her memory.

Patricia instilled in her daughters the values of independence, hard work, and striving for excellence. She was immensely proud to see those same values carried forward in her granddaughters, who were her pride and joy. Known affectionately as the most incredible Nana, Patricia devoted herself fully to them—teaching them to talk and walk, helping with schoolwork, driving them to their activities, cheering on their accomplishments, and showering them with unconditional love. To Patricia, her granddaughters could do no wrong, and her love for them was infinite.

Her heart of gold touched everyone she met. She never stopped checking in on her siblings, extended family, and friends, always making sure those around her felt cared for and loved—even in her final weeks.

Independent and full of life, Patricia loved adventures both big and small. Whether it was dining out with friends, enjoying concerts in the park, going to the movies, taking road trips to Los Angeles or Venice, or simply grabbing a Costco hotdog and ice cream, she cherished experiences that brought joy and connection.

Patricia’s kindness, warmth, strength, and love were gifts that will be deeply missed yet forever treasured in our hearts. She leaves behind not only cherished memories but also a timeless legacy—one defined by her devotion to family, her remarkable resilience, and her unwavering care and compassion for those she loved. Her spirit of generosity, steadfast strength, and unconditional love will continue to inspire and guide all whose lives she touched.
