Panchanan Upendra Shukla

Dr. Panchanan Upendra Shukla, age 39 of Glendora, California, passed away unexpectedly from this life on January 10, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1985, in Torrance, California, to Upendra and Mudrika Shukla and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

Panchu or Panch, as he was affectionately known by friends and family, proudly cared for patients as an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Baldwin Park Medical Center. Despite his busy schedule, he prioritized his family, which included wife Cassie and daughters Isabella and Sofia. The ultimate playmate and chauffeur in all adventures, Panch was the epitome of a girl dad, and he wore that title proudly–literally and figuratively. In addition to his role as a father, Panch served as a devoted husband, constantly buying tools to repair or improve their home with the next project always in the works. A loyal son and brother with an unparalleled compassion for his family, he held his sisters close to his heart and exhibited tremendous respect for his parents. Panch loved an adventure almost as much as he loved the Lakers, often enjoying one trip while planning the next. He was even dubbed the “social chair” as he thrived on coordinating gatherings for friends and family. Panchanan remains a hero to everyone who knew and loved him. 

Panchanan is survived by Cassundra Simpson Shukla, his loving wife of seven years; daughters Isabella (5) and Sofia (2); parents Upendra and Mudrika Shukla of Ontario, California; sisters Sheetal Shukla of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Bindi Shukla of Raleigh, North Carolina; and countless extended family and friends.
