Paige Benavides passed from this life to eternal life in the late evening of April 6 after numerous medical challenges throughout her young life. Paige passed over at home surrounded by love, care, and comfort where many special memories were made throughout her life. Our Paigey, our Página, is gone too soon, and her family is deeply saddened by her departure from her earthly home.
Paige is survived by her mother Julie Benavides, her father Edward Benavides, her sister Marisa Benavides, and their faithful fur-baby Cali. She is also loved and will always be remembered by numerous extended family members from East to West Coast.
Paige was predeceased by her grandparents Irma Ayers of Hacienda Heights, California, Ignacia and Benito Benavides of El Paso, Texas.
Born in China, she grew in our hearts until she was placed in our arms in September 2004. Growing up in Hacienda Heights, California, Paige attended United Christian Education Center, Grazide Elementary, Mesa Robles Middle School, and graduated from G.A. Wilson High School in 2021. Paige excelled in her studies, a fun spirited soul who had many passions which included, piano, hip hop dancing, singing, logical-mathematical intelligence for solving brain teasers, logic exercises, counting calculations, and playing strategy games. Numerous hours were spent challenging adults and winning at her favorites - Skyjo Card Game, Uno, Sequence, and Monopoly; she had no mercy for her opponents and her infectious laughter was filled with affection.
Paige was a faithful young woman that loved the Lord. She was always volunteering to help in any way she could at her church home, Evangelical Formosan Church – East Valley (EFCEV). She was a beautiful and spectacular person inside and out, her smile so stunning it lit up the room, her wit so clever, she cared so deeply for her family, her friends, her church family, her teachers, caretakers-friends made throughout her stays in hospitals. She was so kind, loving, nurturing even with all the medical obstacles. Paige fought hard and nothing that she faced quenched her spirit or corroded her faith. She remained positive, upbeat, and made a significant impact on those who were blessed to know her. Paige will forever be missed, will never be forgotten, will remain in our hearts, and our memories.
Until we meet again Paige, when we look up to heaven, it is most beautiful because you are there, fully healed and rejoicing in your heavenly Father’s arms.
Should family and friends desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to Family House, can be made in memory of Paige Benavides. https://familyhouseinc.org/
