In Loving Memory of Pacita “Susie” Daoang Simon
Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines • June 16, 1946 – October 25, 2025
A Life of Faith, Family, and Love
Pacita “Susie” Daoang Simon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in Claremont, California, at the age of 79.
Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Pacita was the cherished daughter of Gelacio Daoang and Felicitas Passion De Los Santos. She spent her youth and young adult years in Hawai‘i, where she graduated from Farrington High School before eventually settling in La Puente, California. For 47 years, Bench Street was her home and the heart of countless family gatherings and celebrations.
Pacita dedicated much of her career to the banking industry, working for the Los Angeles Police Credit Union, First Interstate Bank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo in downtown Los Angeles. Beyond her career, she was deeply committed to her faith and community as an ordained minister at St. Martha’s Church, where she found joy in serving and helping those in need.
Known for her generosity and unwavering support of family near and far, Pacita embodied kindness, strength, and compassion. She loved dancing, traveling, and shopping—especially for pearls and jewelry from her beloved “BEST” catalog. In her younger years, she enjoyed adventures in Las Vegas and cherished visits to Mexico, Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Canada.
In her later years, Pacita could often be found dancing at the senior center with her devoted husband, Ronald, surrounded by friends and laughter. She adored her grandchildren and always made time to celebrate their milestones. Her love of Elvis Presley, 60’s and 70’s music, and buffets like Hometown Buffet, Golden Corral, and Edokko were small but joyful parts of the vibrant life she led. Above all, she was a woman of deep faith who lived by service, giving back through her volunteer work with St. Martha’s Church to help feed the homeless and hungry.
Pacita is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Palogan Simon; her children, Ronnie Simon and Monalei Simon Lloyd; and her grandchildren, Jazmine Silver, Ronnie Simon Jr., Victoria Simon (+), Jenna Lloyd, and Kelsey Lloyd. She is also survived by her sisters Josie Daoang Geronimo and Sharon Daoang Choo, along with many extended relatives and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
