Pablo Johnson Obituary
December 11, 1932 - November 30, 2023
Pablo Johnson, lovingly known as "Genio," passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, at his home in Cerritos, California. He was born in the Dominican Republic on December 11, 1932. Pablo's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family and friends.
Pablo embarked on a remarkable career with American Airlines, where he dedicated 30 years of his life. He began his journey as an employee and later rose through the ranks to become a Crew Chief. As a Crew Chief, Pablo supervised a cargo handling team with compassion and exceptional leadership skills.
Beyond his professional achievements, Pablo served his country during the Korean War Era. Stationed at various installations in Washington State and Germany, he demonstrated patriotism and bravery while upholding his duty to protect the freedoms we hold dear.
Those who knew Pablo will always remember him for his warm heart and infectious smile. He exuded kindness and love wherever he went. Talking about it brings joy to our hearts to mention that Pablo's most cherished moments were spent doing what he loved most – fishing and hunting. He delighted in regaling others with tales of his adventurous trips.
One of Pablo's passions was birdkeeping. He built an extraordinary aviary where he raised canaries of various colors. His birds became an integral part of his life as they provided him solace and brought beauty into his surroundings. But among all the birds in his collection, Polly the Parrot held a special place in Pablo's heart. Polly possessed an impressive vocabulary that never ceased to amuse those who interacted with her.
Pablo was also quite the urban farmer. He loved his tropical fruits and raised some of the tastiest Bananas, Mangos, Papayas and Guavas to be had. He was also known to raise tomatoes and a tiny red chile pepper he called Dominican Strawberries.
Pablo is survived by his beloved wife Magali Johnson, their children Ramon Johnson, Jacqueline Donaldson, Gisela Simpson-Harris; grandchildren Robert Gomez, Christina Cornejo, Pablo Gomez, Alexandra Gill; great-grandchildren Tahzia Gomez, Roman Cornejo, Noah Cornejo. He was a pillar of strength for his family and extended his love and wisdom to each generation.
To honor the life of Pablo Johnson, a visitation will take place on December 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress located at 4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630. A funeral service will follow on December 20, 2023, starting at 2:30 PM at the same location.
