Ondina Maria Bates, 96, born on September 12, 1922, in Juticalpa, Honduras, passed away December 11, 2018 at 7:30 P.M. She resided in Los Angeles, California for 32 years. She was a teacher in Honduras, before immigrating to the U.S. where she married Air Force Staff Sgt. George Bates. After his death, she housed her sister and mother, who had arrived in Los Angeles with her brother in the 1950's, in the home in Los Angeles where she lived in for 32 years. During her years in Los Angeles, she was a neighborhood caretaker of children. She is survived by two nephews, and two grandnieces and a grand nephew. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.
