Olivia fue una madre y abuela dedicada a sus hijos y nietos.

Olivia Servellón nació el 23 de septiembre de 1942 en el departamento de La Paz, El Salvador. Ella fue la cuarta hija de los siete hijos de Secundino Servellón y Olivia Miranda. En su adolescencia, ella se mudó a la ciudad de Santa Ana para estudiar corte y confección. En la ciudad de Santa Ana, ella desarrolló su negocio de corte y costuras, haciendo ropa de niñas para almacenes locales y el país vecino de Guatemala.

En la ciudad de Santa Ana nacieron sus cuatro hijos Mabel, Evelyn, Oscar y Carolina. Siempre fue una mujer muy trabajadora, ella hizo todo lo que pudo para mantener a sus hijos y cuidar bien de ellos.

En 1974, Olivia emigró a los Estados Unidos buscando un mejor futuro para sus hijos. Llegó a la ciudad de Los Ángeles y residió en el área de Lincoln Heights. Durante la separación de sus hijos, ella siempre pensaba en ellos, quienes eran su mayor razón de vivir.

En el año 1984, debido a la situación sociopolítico y la guerra civil en El Salvador, ella decidió con mucho esfuerzo y sacrificio emigrar a sus hijos a los Estados Unidos. Olivia y sus hijos vivieron juntos por muchos años mientras cada uno de ellos empezaron sus propias profesiones y establecieron sus hogares.

En los Estados Unidos, ella trabajó diseñando camisas de hombre. En su tiempo libre, sin embargo, siempre le gustaba hacer vestidos bordados de niñas. A ella siempre le encantaba la costura y el diseño de ropa, aun cuando tenía inconvenientes por asuntos de salud causados por un accidente de carro que casi le cuesta la vida.

En el año de 1995, Olivia empezó a asistir regularmente a la Iglesia Adventista de Lincoln Heights. El 30 de mayo de 1998, ella decidió entregar su vida a Jesús y fue bautizada por el Pastor Ever García. Ella asistió regularmente a la iglesia, hasta donde su salud se lo permitió.

Olivia, fue una madre y abuela dedicada a sus hijos y nietos. Le gustaba complacer a sus nietos preparando algunos de sus antojos, entre ellos pupusas, chocobananos, guacamole picante, ceviche vegetariano, horchata, enchiladas vegetarianas, deliciosas tamales, chiles rellenos y muchos otros platillos que ellos le pidieran. También confeccionaba camisas para ellos y les hacia los ajustes necesarios a la ropa de ellos.

La salud de Olivia se deterioró progresivamente y en el año 2021 se mudó a la ciudad de Monterey Park a vivir con su hija Mabel y su familia.

Olivia falleció en la madrugada del 2 de agosto del 2026 a los 83 años, con sus hijas y nietos a su lado. Le sobreviven sus hijos y nietos: Mabel e hijos Daniel y Gabriel. Evelyn e hijos Bryan, Christopher y Emily. Además, sus tres bisnietos Keila, Luka y Elia. Oscar e hijos Oscar, Alan y Leticia. Carolina e hijo Ángel. Y sus hermanos Lilian, Roberto, Miriam y Elena. Y entre ellos sobrinas y sobrinos respectivamente. Ella siempre será recordada como una persona de voluntad fuerte, emprendedora, perseverante, cariñosa, buena y fiel amiga. Siempre le gustaba ayudar a los demás y tenía un gran sentido del humor.

Madrecita te amamos y vivirás siempre en nuestros corazones. Te volveremos a ver en la mañana gloriosa para no separarnos jamás.

Olivia Servellón was born on September 23, 1942, in the department of La Paz, El Salvador. She was the fourth of seven children born to Secundino Servellón and Olivia Miranda. During her adolescence, she moved to the city of Santa Ana to study dressmaking and tailoring. While living in Santa Ana, she developed her own sewing business, making girls’ clothing for local stores and for the neighboring country of Guatemala.

It was in the city of Santa Ana that her four children were born: Mabel, Evelyn, Oscar, and Carolina. She was always a very hardworking woman and did everything she could to provide for her children and care for them.

In 1974, Olivia immigrated to the United States in search of a better future for her children. She arrived in Los Angeles and settled in the Lincoln Heights area. During the years she was separated from her children, she always thought of them, as they were her greatest reason for living.

In 1984, due to the sociopolitical situation and civil war in El Salvador, she made the difficult decision, with great effort and sacrifice, to bring her children to the United States. Olivia and her children lived together for many years as each of them began their own careers and established their own homes.

In the United States, she worked designing men’s shirts. In her free time, however, she always enjoyed making embroidered dresses for girls. She always had a passion for sewing and clothing design, even when she faced health difficulties resulting from a car accident that nearly cost her life.

In 1995, Olivia began regularly attending the Lincoln Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church. On May 30, 1998, she decided to give her life to Christ and was baptized by Pastor Ever García. She continued attending church regularly for as long as her health allowed.

Olivia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved making her grandchildren happy by preparing some of their favorite foods, including pupusas, chocobananas, spicy guacamole, vegetarian ceviche, horchata, enchiladas, delicious tamales, chiles rellenos, and many other dishes they would ask her to make. She also made shirts for them and made any necessary alterations to their clothing.

Olivia’s health gradually declined, and in 2021 she moved to the city of Monterey Park to live with her daughter Mabel and her family.

Olivia passed away in the early morning hours of August 2, 2026, at the age of 83, with her daughters and grandchildren by her side. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Mabel and her children Daniel and Gabriel; Evelyn and her children Bryan, Christopher, and Emily; as well as her three great-grandchildren, Keila, Luka, and Elia; Oscar and his children Oscar, Alan, and Leticia; and Carolina and her son Ángel. She is also survived by her siblings Lilian, Roberto, Miriam, and Elena, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She will always be remembered as a strong-willed, entrepreneurial, persevering, loving, kind, and faithful friend. She was always willing to help others and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Madrecita, we love you, and you will always live in our hearts. We will see you again on that glorious morning, where we will never have to part again.
