Olive Shurgot

Olive Jane Shurgot, 98, born on February 20, 1925, in Canonsburg, PA, United States, passed away August 11, 2023. She resided in Ventura, CA at the time of her passing.

Jane was the daughter of the late Marguerite Anthony Brock and George M. Hiles. 

She married the love of her life Ronald Shurgot, and they resided in several areas’ around the Los Angeles, California area during the course of their marriage, with their final home of many years located in Ventura.  Ron preceded Jane in death.

Also preceding her in death are her brothers George (Skip) Hiles of Richmond, Kansas and John A. Hiles of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and their siblings who loved and adored her very much.

Jane worked as a registered nurse in her earlier years. She had a love for animals and always had a dog in her life. She also loved volunteering her time at animal rescue shelters. She was smart, witty, spunky and loved her daily glass of merlot, and just a joy to be around. She had a heart of gold and will forever be missed.
