Ola Hawk, age 92, passed away peacefully in Buena Park, California. Born on September 19, 1932, in Plattsburgh, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Lester and Elsie Burdo and one of 14 siblings in a close-knit family.

Ola married her high school sweetheart, Hainz Hawk, on August 30, 1952, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Their love story spanned more than five decades, marked by devotion, laughter, and shared adventures. In the 1970s, they relocated to Southern California, where they embraced the West Coast lifestyle and built a life surrounded by family—especially the children of Ola’s sister, June, who brought joy and warmth into their home.

Ola and Hainz both enjoyed long careers in banking, known for their professionalism and kindness. Though they never had children of their own, their lives were rich with the love of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who cherished them deeply. After Hainz’s sudden passing in 2005, Ola remained in Buena Park, where she continued to be a steady and loving presence in the lives of those around her.

As the last surviving sibling of her family, Ola leaves behind a legacy of resilience, grace, and generosity. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close.

In lieu of flowers, Ola requested that donations be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in her honor.
