Ofelia Yuson Rodil

July 14, 1953 — November 2, 2022

Ofelia Yuson Rodil of Bellflower, California passed the 2nd of November 2022. She leaves behind a devoted husband (Maximiano), 3 daughters (Tamara, Kathleen, and Elizabeth), 1 grandaughter (Max), and another granddaughter on the way (Ellie).

Ofelia was born to Santos and Crispina Yuson on July 14, 1953 in Cebu City, Philippines. She graduated from Southwestern University and received a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree in 1975. She married Maximiano in 1983 and they lived together in Vienna, Austria for a few years. They settled in California, USA in 1985.
Together, Ofelia and Maximiano had 3 children: Tamara, Kathleen, and Elizabeth. Her children remember Ofelia as a strong and independent woman who led her family with kindness and unyielding strength. Growing up, her children remember her as their rock and refuge. She dedicated herself in empowering her daughters and making sure that they grow up to be self-sufficient women.

Friends remember Ofelia as a jet setter and fashionista. She was always dressed to impress. You would always find Ofelia in the middle of the mix, laughing and planning of new things to do. She was a proud member of "The Dirty Dozen," which were her friends from college who became as close to family as you can get.

Ofelia was a nurse for over 40 years until she retired in 2018. She was a prime example of someone who loved what they did for a living. Everyday she went to work as a Director of Nurses with a goal to make a difference. Her nurses referred to her as "Madam" due to her strict rules, but also her kind heart. From mentoring new nurses to helping others become nurses, Ofelia showed her nurturing nature. With her guidance, she made you feel safe in the enormous world of Healthcare. Skilled Nursing was where she found her calling and passion.

With Ofelia's passing, the world has lost a powerful mother, devoted wife, fabulous grandmother, loyal friend, and brilliant mentor. May she rest in paradise. You will always be in our hearts Madam.
