Norma Conner, 90 years old, born on April 27, 1934 in Brantford Ontario Canada, passed away August 23, 2024. She resided in La Palma, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA. Norma Conner was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Aunt. She grew up in Canada went to school, church and made some lifetime friends that she stayed in touch with for over 55 years. She married and had 3 kids James, John and Karen. She then moved to California to start a new beginning. Things didn't go the way she had planned and had to get a divorce from her first husband and move on with her life. She was devastated for a period of time but along came Stephen Conner. The love of her life for the next 50 plus years. They did a lot of trips together such as Las Vegas was one of the number one destinations. We gave Norma the nickname "Gambling Grandma" because of her love of the casinos and playing Video Poker! Norma also went on cruises and traveled to other countries. She was a travel agent for many years and she had been to many countries such as Spain, Germany, Egypt, China, Canary Islands, Australia etc. She also had 4 Grandkids Christy, Jimmy, Sierra and Heidi. She was a wonderful Grandma and I will always cherish the times we had together. She went to sunshine club and made some friends. She often would play Bingo and win! She was at home a lot towards the end and enjoyed company from her Dog Bonnie. She then had a stroke on her right side and couldn't walk anymore. She then had to reside in a Boarding home and had a hard time adjusting to this change. Although her daughter Karen was there a lot for her in her last days she brought her things she needed such as snacks, dinner sometimes and her desserts like Dark Chocolate. Her Daughter Karen did her very best to help make things better for Norma, but it was hard sometimes. James her son was the one who took care of finances for her and visited her when he could. John communicated over the phone as much as he could. Cindy and Brian visited her as often as they could as well. Although we did what we could for her, she remained unhappy with her situation and felt very lonely. So we all did our best to help and we hope she is now at Peace. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
