He grew up in a traditional Armenian household, learning how to be hardworking and have strong morals and values. He was enrolled in the military in Iran, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He met and fell in love with his wife, Mariet Mahmoudian, at a young age from playing together as children. They married in 1980 and had two daughters, Hanriette in 1982 and Lilian in 1989. Nikola moved to Athens, Greece in 1986 with Mariet and Hanriette where they made many sweet memories.
