Nicholas Joseph Adelizi, 92, of Aliso Viejo, California, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022, surrounded by family.
He was born to parents John and Nancy Adelizi, on April 7, 1930, in Corona, New York. His siblings were Alphonso (Nino) Adelizi and his twin sister Cecilia, who he loved dearly. Nick graduated from High School and proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Cacapon AO-52 from 1950 to 1954.
Nick married the love of his life, Esther Totino, in October 1955. Soon after having their first son Nicholas Jr, the family moved to Huntington Park, California. There they completed their family with the addition of three more boys (Steven, Brian, and Paul) and finally a girl (Tina). The family later moved to Cerritos, California to follow lifelong friends and remained there for 45 years.
After the war, Nick worked in the baking industry before beginning a career in lithography, working for the companies Laurel Lithography and Rapid Blue Print. He later accepted a position as a lithographer with Northrop Corporation where he proudly worked on the B-2 program and eventually retired from there after 20 years of employment.
Nick had an incredible work ethic and while working full time, he started his own part time printing broker business, NJA Enterprises to supplement his income.
Nick was particularly creative and ingenious. Early in his career he led marketing campaigns and won many suggestion awards at Northrop for his innovative ideas. He also patented two of his proud inventions, the Squareup and Sketch Grid and a specialized tape dispenser.
In his personal life, Nick enjoyed oil painting and had a lifelong passion for photography and photographic development where he devoted countless hours. In addition to his own darkroom, Nick established a photo darkroom at the Cerritos Senior Center where he taught photo developing classes for several years as a volunteer. Nick was never without his camera, and always knew how to put a smile on someone's face. He was a known jokester and is remembered fondly for his kindness. Nick was also a lifelong Lakers fan.
