Newton Joseph Bennen was born April 17, 1941
He passed from this life to join his loved ones in heaven on January 13, 2015
Upon passing Newton was surrounded by his family.
Newt was a cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, Papa, Brother, Uncle, and friend. Newt grew up in Yuma, Arizona where he loved running free in the desert during his childhood. Newt's family moved to San Bernardino, California. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1959 where he was a star in Basketball and Track and field.
Newt had a personality bigger than life and loved his family and friends.
Newt was a pilot and loved everything about flying. He was an avid reader, story teller, golfer, and enjoyed traveling. But most of all his family was his greatest joy…
He worked for Stater Brother's markets as a produce manager, and then for American Bakeries where he was West Coast Regional Manager. He later went to work for Continental Business Service as Vice President and General Manager. In 1992 he bought CBS of Pomona where he owned and operated his booking and tax practice, Newt loved his clients and always said he wasn't going to work he was going to visit his friends.
Newt is survived by his wife Diana, Five Children; Steve, Laura, Cathy, Joe, Jim.
Ten Grandchildren: Amanda, Carly, Emily, Cole, Joey, Josh, Nathan, Jayden, Nyah, Noah. Four Siblings: Joanne, Frank, Sandra, Mary.
He will always be remembered as a man who purely loved his family and friends, and was cherished by all that knew him.
The service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina Hills in the
Church of Our Heritage; 21300 Via Verde Dr. Covina, CA. 91724 Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12:00 pm.
Newton's memorial service will also be available via webcam thru Forest Lawns web site.
